GLDAS Forcing Data

Table below summarizes attributes of the meteorological forcing data used to drive the land surface models and links to original data sources.

The GLDAS-2 simulations distributed from GES DISC were forced with the meteorological data sets indicated in the right most column of the table. GLDAS-2.0 simulations are solely forced with the Global Meteorological Forcing Dataset from the Princeton University.  GLDAS-2.1 simulations are forced with a combination of GDAS, disaggregated daily GPCP precipitation, and AFWA radiation datasets.  GLDAS-2.2 simulation is currently forced with the ECMWF data set.
