
Dataset
GLDAS-2 comprises three sub-versions, each having different forcing data. Table below provides a summary of key specifications of the GLDAS-2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 datasets.
The datasets are distributed by the NASA GES DISC and accessible from Get Data page.
This table provides the land surface characteristics and model parameter files used in each GLDAS simulation. These parameter files are known as “lis_input” files and include HyMAP routing model parameters as well. Generated using the Land surface Data Toolkit (LDT) pre-processing tool, these files were applied directly to their respective LIS simulations. For instructions on running LDT and LIS, please refer to the documentation and tutorials available on the NASA Land Information System (LIS) software framework website. More details regarding HyMAP are provided in the NASA technical memorandum [Getirana et al., 2025].
