NLDAS Phase 2 Mosaic, Noah, and VIC LSM output can be viewed, subsetted, and/or downloaded via the NLDAS Giovanni hourly or monthly portals.

NLDAS-2 SAC data will also be added in the near future.

NLDAS-2 Model Download Information

NLDAS Phase 2 model output (hourly and monthly) for the Mosaic, Noah, and VIC LSMs can be downloaded from the GES DISC. NLDAS-2 SAC data will also be added in the near future.

NLDAS-2 Mosaic, Noah, SAC, and VIC data are also available at the NOAA/NCEP/EMC NLDAS ftp servers. Note that all data from EMC is hourly only; no monthly data is available from EMC. Also, please see this FAQ/answer describing the differences between the datasets available from the NASA GES DISC and from EMC.

The NASA Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC) provides access to LDAS datasets using multiple methods, including HTTPS, GDS, and the ability to subset spatially, temporally, and/or by variable:

These datasets are also available via Giovanni. Giovanni is an online application developed by the GES DISC that allows researchers to rapidly explore data, so that spatial-temporal variability, anomalous conditions, and patterns of interest can be directly and easily analyzed online before optionally downloading the data. Supported download formats include NetCDF, GeoTIFF, and KMZ.
